About Our Organization
On 09/26/2013 TYRONE GOODSON YOUTH AND SPORTS PROGRAMS, INCORPORATION, was established as a 501c3 not-for-profit organization with the purpose of providing a safe haven where under privileged youth can participate in comprehensive programs, football, basketball and academic tutoring that promotes the physical, educational and life skills necessary to prepare and empower them for leadership in their communities and success in their personal lives. There is a tremendous need, especially for high-risk youth in low-income neighborhoods, for programs that provide activities and support for children during the after school hours and throughout the summer. We are dedicated to sports and education of children in Ocala and throughout Marion County, Florida.
Mission
​​The TYRONE GOODSON YOUTH AND SPORTS PROGRAMS, INCORPORATION, is in it infancy stage but has already begun to build it reputation in the northwest communities of Ocala, Florida of Marion County. We have conducted surveys of the needs for youth activities in the northwest areas of Ocala, Florida that is inhabited by a significant number of economic disadvantage youths.The northwest area of Ocala, Florida was basically for years a rural area with limited educatioal resources for youth of the area. Our programs will attempt to assist in filing this void. The northwest area of Ocala, Florida has now expanded to a viable community with double the amount of homes as in the past. Within the last 5 years, the area has tripled in the number of homes and youth in the area.
